Mary & Martha Circle
Our name, Mary and Martha Circle, reflects our sisterhood with a duel emphasis of our faith (Mary) and our good works (Martha). Through fundraisers like our bake sale, nut sale and yard sale we are able to support local church and community needs. Through programs and prayer our faith strengthens each of us enabling us to do work for our Lord.
Our meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7pm in the church library. We encourage all women to join us and be a part of a caring group of Christian women.Sister's Bible Study
If you are looking for encouragement, fellowship and friendship the “Sisters Bible Study” is the place to be. Meeting Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm in the church, we gather for prayer and study. We are currently doing a study by Beth Moore called “Breaking Fear”. Although it is an eleven week study, we are taking our time with each set of lessons. As Sister’s in Christ, we welcome you to join our group.

Stitches and Prayers
Stitches and Prayers started in 2005 as a Prayer Shawl Ministry. We have created many soft, warm knitted or crocheted shawls over the years. In 2013 we branched out, changed our name and added new projects. In addition to prayer shawls, we now make baby blankets (with or without coordinating mother’s shawls), youth blankets, adult lap blankets and “Huggies” for Children’s Hospital. We even have some fleece lap blankets made. These projects are given to anyone in need of comfort, whether for illness, injury, suffering from loss or in-the-midst of a crisis. They are also given as a celebration blessing, such as for a marriage, birth or a milestone birthday.
Before each project is delivered it is prayed over by the ministry team who created it.
Ways to become Involved:
- You can knit or crochet a project, or work on a fleece blanket
- You can share the name of someone in need of our projects
- You can pray for those who create our projects
- You can support the ministry financially to help with the purchase of supplies
If you don’t knit or crochet…we can teach you!
Pattern idea cards are located on the bulletin board in Room 103.
Check the events calendar on our website for our meeting schedule. Come join this extremely rewarding ministry.
The Doers Circle
The Doers Circle is open to anyone who is interested in doing hands on projects that benefit women, children and youth and are part of United Methodist Women. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to work on projects; support each other with prayer and fellowship and discuss events and concerns of the larger United Methodist Women’s organization.
Our current and ongoing project is the assembling of reusable sanitary napkins for distribution in Zimbabwe. We are open to other projects – local, national or international that benefit our target group.
Everyone is welcome to join us whenever they are available to participate.
We hope to see you soon!
UMM Weekly Meeting
At Franklin First United Methodist Church, the Men’s Group meets on Thursday mornings from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. We gather for coffee, doughnuts, and the Word of God.
The mission statement for the United Methodist Men, at large, is to support spiritual growth among men, helping men to mature as disciples as they encourage spiritual formation in others.
Each week we encourage each other through prayer, spiritual conversation, fellowship, and laughter.
Additionally, we work together to help a variety of ministries within the church with financial help and physical labor as needed. The group is open to men of any age and one does not need to be a member of the church to attend.
